OK, this discussion has reached the level of diminishing returns. There seems to be a general agreement that the concept of keys is not the problem, but the execution of the keying process is. The desirable behavior is that the product run without a key for a reasonable transition period to permit updates, etc without making it into a critical situation while some other critical thing is happening. A nice thing that some vendors provide is an automated way to issue a temporary key, followed by a call from the vendor to the customer to check in on the use of the temporary key. Now, can we go back to the boring usual issues, like Charles originally requested several days ago? ---------------------------------------------------------------------- For IBM-MAIN subscribe / signoff / archive access instructions, send email to lists...@listserv.ua.edu with the message: INFO IBM-MAIN
