DCSSRSAV, using DEFSEG, does not preserve the date/time stamp when doing the restore. Does anyone know of a way to change the date/time stamp of a DCSS?

No. Even the relatively inexpensive but very good product VTAPE from VSSI is not usable for SPXTAPE. I presume that the system doesn't like the virtual tape drive that is necessary for mounting the virtual tape. For saved segments, DCSSBKUP and DCSSRSAV (free) will work for all but the ones that can be IPLed. If you are backing up those, perhaps VSEG from CA will do the trick. Anyone know of a way to simulate a tape drive for use with SPXTAPE? We = don't normally have tape defined to our VM and I'd hate to have to do it = just to run an SPXTAPE DUMP SDF every now and again. So, I was hopin' to find a way to dump 'em to disk (or transfer them somehow to another system) without havin' to buy anything. :-) Thanks, Leland -------------------------------------------------------- If you are not an intended recipient of this e-mail, please notify the sender, delete it and do not read, act upon, print, disclose, copy, retain or redistribute it.
