Title: RE: ICC Problems

To ‘reset’ or ‘reload’ the ICC, you have to vary off the CHPIDs to the ICC from ALL LPAR’s. We were not doing this since the holdout LPAR was a new one and since there was no console for it, it was just ignored. Taking the CHPIDs offline at the HMC is not effective. Once they came offline then back on, the ICC responded as expected.

Thanks for everyone’s help.

I haven't done it for some time, but I remember down in the HMC pannels where the ICC gets configured there is a 'reload, or restart' or something like that. You might try looking in the ICC Red Book.

Not strictly VM related, but my VM consoles are down (in fact all consoles
are down) because someone pulled the network cable from the ICC's. Now that
the cable is plugged back in, and the ICC's can be PING'ed, and all of the
devices are now enabled, I cannot connect to the ICC using PC3270 nor can
the operators connect using their 3270 emulators. I try to telnet from my
VM system to the ICC and get:

telnet icc2 3270
VM TCP/IP Telnet Level 520
Connecting to ICC2 153.64.116.137, port 3270
Foreign host rejected the open attempt
Ready;

Is there anyway to restart the ICC? The effected CHPID has been taken
off/online at the HMC.
