Just so's you know:  That's the same for all OSAs, ICC or otherwise.  But 
your statement about the vary off on the HMC not working doesn't jive with 
what I've been told and have experienced.  If you vary the chpid off to 
all LPARs (whether via HMC or commands in each LPAR), the OSA should 
reset.

My experience has also been that the reset doesn't occur until you VARY it 
online to the first LPAR.  THEN it reboots, presumably to allow 
stand-alone card diagnostics.  (Though it has been a while since I played 
with it.)
