Mr. Martin.

Ok....The assessments normally last 2 to 3 weeks, which require an
onsite visit to collect, analyze & evaluate the IT environment. My
contract rate is $190 Hr. + travel expenses which we can try to keep
down by minimizing onsite time.

You will be presented with a final presentation at the end of that term
and I will be available to answer any & all questions. This includes
considerable amount of collateral documentation. This may also include
installation, configuration & tuning information as well.

Since I no longer work for Oracle, this document would be an independent
assessment, free of any bias that results from the pressure of a
commission based salesman. I think you know what I mean.

I can also help you/your company with the installation, migration,
tuning and other support activities...but that is another topic that can
be addressed if you wish to move forward.

Terry...

I just got off of a contract with Oracle and have moved their data bases
to zLinux because they will no longer support Oracle beyond V10gR2. In
other words, Oracle on the legacy systems are supported with a lifetime
support clause, but will not be upgraded with new features. So I have
moved Oracle Data Bases to zLinux for the newer features, V11 and RAC.
Additionally, I have also consolidated servers to move the Oracle data
bases to zLinux.

Would you be interested in an assessment ?

Hi

Are you seeing a fair number of shops running Oracle on Linux on Z and
if so have the results been favorable? The question comes about
because....

My management is hearing that when people move servers over to the Z
under Linux they are mostly moving servers that have very little usage
already and that databases like Oracle are staying put on the other
platforms such as Solaris in my case, giving them the impression that
the z/Linux cannot handle this. I know there are some situations where
this may be true but I do not believe on a whole this is necessarily
true. What do you think!

Thanks,

Terry
