Your safest bet is probably to use VMARC format (see the IBM VM Download page), it's pretty much a standard on VM.
This is one of the tools I'd really like to VMSES-package, at least until the day we can convince the IBM lawyers that having a "contributed tools" minidisk would be a Good Thing. If we could package some of the critical user tools in a SES-installable envelope form, that would be really really good stuff. Could IBM be convinced to reserve a set of "product numbers" that would never be used by a commercial product? And what other tools would most of us consider critical? If we agreed to pay travel and food, would one of you IBM packaging wizards give a seminar on how to create a installable envelope at the next Hillgang?
