PiPE has been around for quite some time..

You would use PIPE 'instead of' EXECIO.  For example:   'PIPE FILE OUTPUT
FILE A | STEM LINES.'     -- reads the file OUTPUT FILE and puts it in the
REXX stem LINES.

There is lots of documentation...    HELP REXX MENU is probably the easiest
to get to if you're on z/VM.

PIPE is only available on CMS.
