Right now i struggle with receiving SNMP Traps. I already set up
SNMPTT and can log the traps to its logfiles. But how do i get the
Traps to Icinga 2? I read something about an anditional EventDB
where the traps are logged and then the DB is polled by Icinga but
i want to avoid an aditional tool or polling. So far i havent found any
documentation for Icinga 2 and the integration of SNMP Traps.
I hope you can help me and give me some hints.
In snmptt.conf you have EXEC statements for each match, design a
service and host naming convention that allows you to echo cmds
generically into icinga2.cmd.
By using passive checks and events, you can craft scenarios for
various patterns where freshness is monitored or services are
auto reset etc...
Afaik this topic is always a head banger. I'd appreciate it if you could
write some markdown documentation and send it to the dev tracker for
icinga2.
There already is a space reserved for that, but it still waits for
community contributors :)
