Either way, a log entry about detecting a file with CRLF line endings

I'll look into that possibility if I can find the time between
blizzards here in the Northeast US.
Did the OP ever strip the CRs from his file and try again? From
a very quick look at the source this morning, no attempt is made to
differentiate <CRLF> terminated lines from <LF> ones which means
that his attempt to start ido2db would have failed in a veritable
blaze of glory -- and hopefully more than a few errors geting logged.
Don't get me wrong, but one who edits a file on windows and uploads to a
linux box without ensuring proper line feeds is responsible for that on
his/her own.
It's a common problem in the wild, but imho applications shouldn't
attempt to fix the problem for the user. That "situation" is something
which is part of the "linux basics" we require for anyone out there
using monitoring tools on linux/unix.

PS: If you are looking for some development tasks during the blizzard,
fetch the icinga2 git master and test the new functions and conditionals
accompanied by following the docs.
