No problem, i just rebooted the server, now i have 175 processes (some minutes
ago there were about 7500 processes... so thousands of ido2db processes ;-) )
I have a backup so i will be able to do all the same.
But what i didn't saved in a file were the options i used (as -with-ssl-enabled
and these things..)
Is there any possibility to find out what i entered?
Thanks four your help michael

Well, good question :)
I just checked that, I used the package
icinga-1.2.1.tar.gz
I think I downloaded it from the icinag-site, or is it linked to sourceforge?
Can't remember :)
To install I think I used that howto:
https://wiki.icinga.org/display/howtos/Setting+up+Icinga+with+IDOUtils+on+Ubuntu+10.10
ok so my initial howto is being used. good ;)
if you can wait for 1.4.2 in a bit, you can do an upgrade... basically the same
as installing, but *not* running make-install-config (or you've created backups
of ..icinga/etc and icinga/var
even though i'd suggest packages for upgrading purposes, but this will most
likely not ease your understanding on upgrading ;-)

well still the question on how - source or packages. maybe there are ppa's on
launchpad for getting that on lucid if you are using package install.

I remember the SIGHUP, so could really be the https://dev.icinga.org/issues/1410
I'm the only admin for icinga, so it's possible to upgrade.
question would be how you installed it, and which operating system is being
used for that.
Buuut... I'm specialized on Windows, I'm using just a few Ubuntu/Debian
machines. So my experience is not that of a Linux pro.
I already searched for a "Howto Upgrade" 1-2months ago when other versions were
released.
I need some help / advices "how to upgrade".
I did that 2 years ago 1 time with nagios, and I remember that I lost my
navigation. So what do I have to backup and how to upgrade?
I remember to use "the same" options as the first installation, but.... Is
there any chance to get the options I entered..? :)
Thanks all for your advices.
Greeting
Sascha

Icinga: 1.2.1
could be this bug https://dev.icinga.org/issues/886 or this one
https://dev.icinga.org/issues/1410
i'll be releasing 1.4.2 today, so the question would be if and how you are able
to upgrade.

Hi all,
I just remarked that mi icinga server has 0% of swap left.
Real memory: 3.93 GB total / 351.32 MB free Swap space: 1.42 GB total / 0
bytes free
So i looked at the processes, there are 6 of these
9199<https://srvmop01:10000/proc/edit_proc.cgi?9199> icinga 59112 kB
/usr/local/icinga/bin/icinga -d /usr/local/icinga/etc/icinga.cfg (pid is only
one of all)
And hundreds of these (don't know how to count)
705<https://srvmop01:10000/proc/edit_proc.cgi?705> icinga 16680 kB
/usr/local/icinga/bin/ido2db -c /usr/local/icinga/etc/ido2db.cfg
Any idea where the problems comes from?
version and possible adapted configs would be very helpful in the first place.
Thanks for your help,
sascha
