============================================================================ ================================ Vanderstar Chair The United States Naval Academy invites applications and nominations for the Naval Academy Sailing Program Vanderstar Chair position. The Vanderstar Chair is named in honor of Mr. Cornelius Vanderstar and is a full time position with responsibility for safety, training, and material matters associated with the Naval Academy sail training program, including: * Training issues specifically related to ensuring the safety of personnel and equipment. Such issues include, but are not necessarily restricted to, curriculum content, structure and development, time allocation for execution, and asset utilization. * Material condition of Sail Training Craft (STC), including repairs and material improvements necessary to ensure safe operation of the craft by midshipmen. * Other issues relating to safety, training, and material standards, as assigned by Director, Naval Academy Sailing. Applicants should be prepared to fill this important managerial position and serve in the capacity of Deputy Director for Safety and Qualification, conduct both classroom and on-the-water training, and comply with Naval Academy rules and regulations.
