This year, three principal speakers will bring unique perspectives on how to include STEM lessons in your sailing program: *Dr. Richard KorpusDr. Richard Korpus*, Naval Architect and Aerospace Engineer, directed the aerodynamics program for BMW/Oracle Racing for three years. He has been part of four America's Cup design teams (including 2 Louis Vuitton finalists and the winner of AC33). His presentation will include ways to teach the physics, aerodynamics and hydronamics of sailing to your students in concert with the America's Cup competition. *Doug WilsonDoug Wilson*, Oceanographer, designed and established the Chesapeake Bay Interpretive Buoy System (*CBIBS* [ http://buoybay.noaa.gov ]), an observation system that provides critical information for boaters, scientists, environmental managers and educators. His presentation will demonstrate the exciting advances to climate observation programs and ocean observation systems presented by technology. *Dr. Angela MoranDr. Angela Moran*, United States Naval Academy Professor of Mechanical Engineering and the Director of their STEM Program, has led her colleagues in the development of extensive STEM offerings, including SeaPerch Underwater Robotics, Summer STEM Camps, and Expaning Your Horizons for middle school girls. More teachers will be participating in 2013. _________________________________________ NSHOF Receives Grant for Elementary School Science Initiative "Annapolis, MD -" The Eastport Yacht Club Foundation (EYCF) has given NSHOF a grant to develop and pilot an Elementary School "In-School" Science Field Trip Program. The Anne Arundel County Public Schools STEM program has added their support to this initiative.
