US Sailing Introduces "REACH" Curriculum for Teaching Math & Science National Consortium Member US Sailing has introduced a new middle school curriculum entitled REACH that utilizes sailing as an educational platform to teach STEM topics (Science, Technology, Engineering and Mathematics). The modules can be used as a stand alone program or combined with "Learn Sailing Right!" beginner or intermediate programs offered by sailing schools. However, Hudson River Community Sailing's boathouse and classrooms were inundated. They are running their winter boatbuilding program out of temporary facilities. Rocking the Boat also sustained damage to their docks on the Bronx River. _________________________________________ Sandy Hook The tragedy in Newtown, Connecticut was devastating for Young Mariners Foundation Program Director Peter Gunn and his wife, Leslie, who live in the Sandy Hook neighborhood. Leslie is Sandy Hook's art teacher and was with her 4th grade class during the incident.
