Hi Ensure that:- (1) your IP and DNS settings are put correctly. (2) Ensure that DNS set is 10.10.1.2 and 10.10.2.2 only. (3) Repository settings are as indicated here: http://lug-iitd.org/Articles/Debian_Help#Adding_Ubuntu_Jaunty_Jackalope_9.04_Repo_from_CSE
Once done report result of "ping http://poorvi.cse.iitd.ernet.in:80"; It appears that the nameserver is not able to connect you to poorvi. Gajendra P.S.
