Buddy Nipun, A semester course in CG is a lot more than simple drawing. Whether you use open gl or whether you use T C please dont fall into the trap of not going as deep as required.
open gl is standard cross platform 3d api and you can use a library like glut or sdl to handle the mouse and window management call backs in a cross platform portable way. There are also 3 d api s in java but not imho as mature yet as open gl. Hope that helps.. And if you have more questions - ask and i'm happy to help. This is some thing I spend a lot of time bombarding Narendra also - that open source or closed source - we need to inculcate students in India with a world class level of technology basics and that people need to go as deep as necessary to be able to compete with tie best in tie world.
