Making a custom distro in long run can cause problems such as support for new devices, drivers etc. every time the user has to wait for us to release new patches and updates. As we are a community and not an entity we may not be able to serve each and every one at there timeframe. Also we are breaking their freedom to choose , by forcing them to use our custom distribution.
IMHO The best thing is that the schools can use any platform as they like. We will provide the necessory educational packages in both Deb and RPM in a single CD .
