*Points to be noted i**nstalling Windows and any GNULinux distro (dual boot) when the hard disk is completely free*
- Always install Windows first. If you install Windows after GNULinux, it will override GNULinux's boot loader with the Windows boot loader. And Windows Boot Loader don't detect GNULinux. - While allocating partition during Windows Installation keep some space of hard disk as un-allocated partition for GNULinux. - Then during GNULinux installation select option something like "Install GNULinux in free space along with Windows." This will install GNULinux in that un-allocated partition. This option is available in most recently released distros. - Use GNULinux's partition as Ext4. (If you are using Ubuntu it will automatically mount NTFS partition of Windows. If not you may need to install *ntfs3g* from synaptic package manager.)
