Swap space is just space on your hard-drive set up to compensate for
when you run out of RAM. Accessing that is as slow as accessing your
hard drive, so less swap used is better.

I do not think any graphics card currently available can use hard-drive
space to augment VRAM, and besides that isn't a very good idea at all.
On the Intel 845 board, you should be able to increase the amount of
main RAM that is allocated to your on-board graphics in the BIOS.
