As a person from who has over 26 years IT Industry experience, My observations are stated below. 1. After the LPG wave every student wants to be as rich and successful as Shri. N. R. Narayanamurthy. 2. The non technical (Marketing) side wants to be Shri Vijay Mallaya. Surprisingly no girl wants to be <Whatshername> Biotech Queen. 3. The finance oriented want to be THE Ambani. So open source does not ring a bell. People rely on word of mouth sources for their decision taking. Above IMHO.
