I thought it was a good compromise to provide a multi-boot option but now they've removed Linux completely out of the spec. The question now is, are the students allowed to install Linux on their own or will it void the warranty and support? If they are not allowed to do so, they should at least be allowed to run Linux on VirtualBox. Will it be possible for them to at least pre-install, say, VirtualBox and a Ubuntu VM image on these laptops?
