designed to be used with it...

If you do want to develop iPhone apps in Linux, it is no easy task. But if
you are ready for the challenge, take a look at:
http://www.pjtrix.com/blawg/2009/07/21/iphone-development-on-windows-linux-with-open-source-tools/
It involves cross compilation, download of headers from the iPhone, MAC
development kits and probably violations of tons of licensing terms.

If you do manage to build apps with an open source tool chain, please share
the experience.
