In the past, I have used scim with openoffice to type documents in Hindi. The last time I did it was about a year ago when my machine was running Ubuntu 6.10 or 7.04. Since then I have upgraded it to Ubuntu 7.10 and more recently to Ubuntu 8.04.
Today when I needed to type a document in Hindi, I realised that there is some problem with the setup and SCIM does not work with openoffice. Searching on the net, I found several links that discuss problems between scim and openoffice on ubuntu and other distributions. I found, however, the discussion to be very patchy and none of them seem to give a clear and sureshot way to solve the problem. A few unclear suggestions that I found did not work for me. Has anyone else on the list faced this problem? If you have ubuntu hardy on your system, can you check if scim works with openoffice? Does anyone here know where the problem may be and can point to some resource that may help resolve it? Thanks, Vikas _______________________________________________ ilugd mailinglist -- ilugd@lists.linux-delhi.org http://frodo.hserus.net/mailman/listinfo/ilugd Next Event: http://freed.in - February 22-24, 2008 Archives at: http://news.gmane.org/gmane.user-groups.linux.delhi http://www.mail-archive.com/ilugd@lists.linux-delhi.org/
