What is uncertain about it? Are you not sure if Ubuntu has this option? Or are you not sure if the information is sent to Amazon? When the option is configured as default what is unclear about if it affects a user or not? If one is not affected then, one has to know Ubuntu is doing this, one has to know it affects ones privacy and its bad, then one has to know how to opt out from this and then opt out from this. Do you think that is an easy path for a normal user? Do you still think that is acceptable for a Free Software distribution to do? If at all it is an useful thing, shouldn't it be an opt in? or shouldn't a user be asked or informed about it? -- പ്രവീണ് അരിമ്പ്രത്തൊടിയില് You have to keep reminding your government that you don't get your rights from them; you give them permission to rule, only so long as they follow the rules: laws and constitution. _______________________________________________ Ilugd mailing list Ilugd@lists.linux-delhi.org http://frodo.hserus.net/mailman/listinfo/ilugd
