Apparently this is a dialup connection. Hopefully you made sure the phone
jack is working (dialtone).
What OS is she running- some version of 9 I assume?
You need to check the settings in Remote Access control panel and Internet
control panel. TCP/IP is more for networking (or is it a network connection,
like at a univeristy dorm?)
Do you have techtool pro or diskwarrior you could run?
Maybe a modem hardware failure (unlikely w/ this new a machine but
possible).

Actually you could just move them to the trash, dont delete the trash, and
try running it again. This will disable them totally. If that doesnt work
you can move them back from the trash to the pref folder again. I've used
this technique a few times to check things.
