I use X on my desktop and we put it on the daughter's slot load, 450
i-Mac. It seems to run much better with a partition in the 2-4 GB range.
Hers has 20 GB HD and we sized it 2, (9.2), 4 (10.1.5) and the balance,
prox 14 for storage. (This volume size issue is also discussed in "OS X
The Missing Manual")

There's a 6.2+ download upgrade for Appleworks, makes a big difference
in responsiveness under OS X.

Just my experiences so far with X on an older i-Mac.
