To my knowledge, an iMac cannot take a VRAM upgrade; ya takes what chya gots
(re: Chicago mob).

10.2, though, can get along without 32MB of VRAM.  If a Mac does have 32MB
of VRAM, then 10.2 uses Quartz Extreme for graphical rendering.  If the Mac
doesn't have the 32MB of VRAM, then 10.2 utilizes a method that is
compatible with the lesser amount; as you can see, I don't know what that
other method is, but suffice it to say that 10.2 will render graphics using
the onboard video without needing 32MB of VRAM.
