Hmmm, I'm ignorant (or maybe I just forgot the details) of 
recycle-ability of LCDs, or their comparative poisonousness, and, yes, 
I'm well aware CRTs are bad on both counts. I *do* remember a New York 
Times magazine about a year or so ago, which documented the 
environmental ravage caused by illegal "rare earth" mineral (essential 
to tiny cellphone through 23" LCD displays) mining operations going on 
in wildlife/rainforest preserves in Africa. Anyone else read that?
LCDs are very nice, but not perfect in every way.
