I had problems with my HP 810C dropping off my USB hub (Shark with no power)
which also had a ZIP drive and a SanDisk card reader attached, running off
my iMac G3/333 with System 8.6.

Thinking it was too much power draw, I brought a Dlink powered USB hub but
it won't work at all. With or without power, the data stream out to the HP
810C to 99% page printed and then hangs. The printer gets some data but
won't print.

I have swapped the Shark hub and the Dlink hub and the Dlink works fine on
my Toshiba notebook.

I'm assuming that power is not the full story then. I haven't gotten around
to playing with the ports on my iMac yet.

Regards

Phil Walding
