I replaced the  original 6GB 5400 Maxtor in my slot loading iMac with a 80GB 7200 
Maxtor.  I had concerns that the 7200 rpm was going to be too hot, however I have not 
found it to be at all.  I typically leave my mac on for days at a time.  I have a copy 
of GaugePro from Newertech.com and the cpu runs about 107 degrees F.
