There was known issue with the power button on iMac DV series getting stuck. The button sticks in the hole in the Mac, and sporadically, it will shut down. I had mine replaced under Apple Care, but I've also heard of people using an sand paper to enlarge the hole so the button doesn't stick; I think you only need only need to take off the front cover to fix it.
