Lately my iMac Flat Panel 800 Mhz takes over two minutes before the radial dial shows up during the boot process. After that it proceeds normally to the log-in screen. Has anyone experienced this sudden symptom?

I have not been reading MacFixIt, but I've seen other people say that the problems with the Security Update reported there are being experienced by Panther users, not Jaguar users. FWIW.
