PC users have the same problem, but they are essentially the same thing,

DIMM Dual In-Line Memory Module;
SDRAM Synchronous Dynamic RAM (Random Access Memory).

The PC100 tells you that the memory runs at 100MHz, whi ch is the
correct speed for your machine, since the earlier tray loading iMacs run
with the slower 66MHz memory speed.
Just make sure you get it from a Mac Reseller/specialist as that way you
will know you'll get the right stuff.

Subject: RAM confusion on a DVD iMac

Hello,

I have a slot-loading DVD iMac I bought used. I want to upgrade the RAM.
I got the specs from Apple and they said PC100 DIMM but the specs on
LowDownMac says PC100 SDRAM. How can I know which is correct? Or does it
matter?

Barbara
