Also, if you are still using Classic a lot in OS X, please give me those reasons as well.

Not a lot, but (1) to do OCR. I got ReadIris with my most recent scanner, and it runs in X, but I *hate* it - can't figure out what it's doing, the word correction is really weird (letter by letter? How do I know the word as a whole is right??). So I still use Omnipage 8 SE, which came with an earlier scanner, in Classic. I looked into upgrading Omnipage and the reviews on Versiontracker were *so* bad for more recent (X-compatible) versions that I followed the advice of the reviewers & stayed with 8 in Classic.

(2) Word 5.1. The BEST. Though now I'm moving to doing the basic things in TextEdit & the fancy stuff in Ragtime Solo. Not because they're better than Word 5.1 (though Ragtime is for a full newsletter) but because opening classic is such a pain.

Hmm, don't think I fire it up for anything else.
