Rotating the battery doesn't create heat of any note, nor does it charge the battery in any way; it acts to 'wipe' the metal surfaces that contact, allowing better electron flow to/from the battery, and it often does help since contacts that aren't gold plated will oxidize with time, restricting current flow.
