I definitely do think it is worth a shot. Different drives have different
abilities to read damaged disks. One time my IBM kept on coming up with Blue
Screens when I inserted a disk, suggesting I clean the disk. When I copied
it on my HP to a CD-R and reinserted it into my IBM and it worked perfectly.
On the other hand my HP wouldn't recognize a music CD, not because of
damage, but when I put it into the IBM no problem. But, as a side note, it
doesn't sound like a scratched CD to me.
