Greetings Listers!!
Here's one to mull over and offer any suggestions:

iMac 350 Blueberry, 192 MB 6G HD, running OS 9.1.

I get a lot of Windows Movie Files (.wmf, .wmv, wma, etc.) from friends,
and some I can open and play just fine using my Windows Media
Player app. Many times though, I can't seem to get the video to
come up; audio plays great. This is a hit-or-miss situation, and I've
even tried sending the files to my G4 Titanium (OS 9,1) with the same
results. Why do some play fine, and others no video?

Any suggestions on how to get both video and audio to play?
Or is this another case of my outdated (but no plans to update)
old, decrepit OS?

You got it. To play newer WMF files, you either need the OSX version of Windows Media Player, or the OSX addon to Quicktime which will play them...
