i think by now it's an outdated method but i had and still do to boot a linux CD on my G3, you need to boot into OpenFirmware, this is the command you should us eto try and Force the system to boot the Disc.) i belive this is thr right one. (its been 3 years since i last used mmy Orange DVi+ G3.)
