Hi all,
I also found these starting points super handy when programming and if
one knows how the old macro code had to look, one can still get them in
the results table.
However, I also wondered at some point why this function as well as the
"in-situ show" option was removed from the dialog. The latter one was
also super nice to avoid a separate mask image popping-up.
I was rather wondering why the "Outline" checkbox is present, since it
does the same as the "Show" option "Outline" (?)
@Wayne: would it be possible to restore those two functions in the
dialog again (since the code is anyways still in the repo)?
Best,
Jan

Hi Herbie,
Those are the points of detection of every region of the image when
you do a raster scan top to bottom, left to right. It is guaranteed to
be in the region (or actually on the boundary of the region) unlike
the centre of mass. It is also very useful to reconstruct, label,
regions in a binary image or to delete them (e.j. to delete the nth
region just flood fill the nth (XStart, Ystart) point with
8-connectivity using the background colour).
I wonder if the entry got pushed down the list when new options were
added and now it is not shown in the dialogue any more.
Regards
Gabriel

Greetings Pål,
AFAIK, the change took place with version 1.53g (4 December 2020) and I
must admit that I don't fully understand the function of the now missing
option that was described as:
"This option allows plugins and macros to recreate particle outlines
using the doWand(x,y) macro function. The CircularParticles macro
demonstrates how to use this feature."
Is your request related to the Reddit-post:

??

What happened to the "Record Starts" checkbox in the Analyze
Particles
dialog? I could not find any mention of this being removed in the
release
notes.
Cheers,
