I agree with most of your stuff there.
One point of clarification: the main thing stopping ANYONE from putting a
multiple file upload via web page:
The input type=file will only allow one file at a time (try it out on any
page). That pretty much blocks multiple files at once there. The only
workaround I see is a set of buttons (file1, file2, file3, etc...) Which I
think is icky.
So if the browsers would support multiple tagging of files for an input type
of file, we may be able to pull something off.
