I don't think anyone has quantified the speed difference between SQL and the
IMail registry db. My instincts tell me that the registry db might be a bit
faster, but I can't prove it. We run the http://killerwebmail.com demo on
SQL7 on an external machine.
The biggest speed improvement (at least 2X) comes from moving your KWMimages
directory to a separate webserver; IMail is really poor at serving multiple,
small gif files, and it adds non-caching headers to them so browsers have to
continually re-load them.
