The CPU speed isn't the critical item, it's first memory, and then
disk i/o. You mentioned neither. But if you're only talking
about up to 1000 msgs/hour, 25K msgs/day, then 64 megs and one ATA
disk is enough.
** 1000 messages per hour would be WAY PLENTY of capabilities for
me now. My P166 and P90 both have 128MB Ram and I believe 2GB
Disks.

Either way, you're ok. I don't know of any IMGate users who are
not extremely satisfied. Sometimes, after they get it running, we
haveto recommend pills to calm them down. :)))
** Well I don't need antacid yet and don't have a lot of users
yet. Email is an auxiliary component of what I'm doing not my
focus. I just am trying to setup a quality system that will be
low on the headaches. I view going down this route as buying a
premptive bottle of aspirin.
My issues won't be users, but some lists I have may get to be
decent size.

Yes, it's best to have the main firewall box in its own box, esp
if you're doing a PC based firewall. The simpler the firewall box
(less qty of software), the more secure it is.

powerful firewall solution. I know people where that is ALL they
do because it is such a pain in the ass for them. Any suggestions?
I am running Win2K, IIS, SQL Server, IMail/WSFTP and ASP mostly.
Will be doing JSP and Servlet Exec as well.
