Sounds like a broken config file that the address book screen uses. To diagnose it yourself, do a view source on the broken page, and look towards the bottom for mention of a file not found. Note that config_*.cgi files can NOT be blank, or IMail will think they're missing (ugh I'm sick of that behavior).
