To provide a username and password in DNS, please see KB article:

which states:
Question/Problem: When I set up the SQL dsn and try to read/add users, it just
doesn't work.
Answer/Solution: Make sure that you have to login information for the database
in the Imail DSN setup thusly:
DSNname;UID=<SQL user id>;PWD=<SQL password for this userid>
