>Tim,
You should probably be monitoring your servers using either an outside
service or a separate box. You can then cause it to page you if a server
goes down or a service dies, giving you a chance to reset it before the
world turns upside down on you.
Couple of options: ipswitch has a program (this is their list) so I felt I
should mention it first.
There are also several programs which run on Unix/Linux that do this. Big
Brother ( http://maclawran.ca/bb-dnld/ ) is one of them.

> This same situation happened to me this morning and the phone still has
not stopped ringing. We are running imail 5.06, we did not have this problem
with 5.05. I came into the office today , to see the Imail machine with 11
instances of smtp32.exe when using task manager and trying to end the
process, it would not let me. Eventually it spawned more of these instances
and locked up the box. This after rebooting, it happened again, I rebooted
and on the third time.. the processes seem to have gone away. What causes
this? How can I prevent it from happening again. My customers are not happy,
not happy at all.
