Fair? How can you say that it's OK for Sun (they make an operating system
too) to give away 'free' applications that run on their OS but criticize
Microsoft for giving away a browser application with it's OS?
If MS gave away Office for free, the justice department would begin to
hyperventilate and foam at the mouth ( Wow! I just had a vision of "Waco II,
The MS compound"). Any other company, as long as they are anti-MS, seem to
enjoy whatever business 'strategy' they desire.
I would say that even at $700, the Office package would be a steal. I don't
know of any any other programmers that would even claim they can produce an
equivlent package and be willing to sell it for $700. Research,
development, marketing, support, training courses, etc...
