I've
looked closer at the smtp- records and they do look like they are in a form that
would make importing the logs into a database a bit more reasonable than the way
we are doing it. As for the Perl stuff. I've written many perl programs under
Linux, but I don't really know perl enough to do a project like this. It sounds
interesting though.

For acctng/data volume purposes, I can't see any "smtpd" records that contain the byte count nor contain "accntg" data that isn't included in the r/l deliver records.
