here are a few responses.  obviously others weigh in as well. 
 
- There is no PDA mail. There wasn't before but I had written one using the old template system. I hope there is one coming as the new templates do not seem to change friendly.
==KG> The new webmail supports mobile devices. we have many blackberry and other (e.g. Treo) mobile device users using a mix of web based email or a pop client that runs on the mobile device.  We seen/heard a few issues with bb, but for the most part, it appears to work okay.
 
- Webmail does not have a page title. It simply says the http://myip.com/IClient/default.aspx. The default.aspx page is generated via .net code and I could not find a way to add a simple title tag to it.
==KG> Excellent request.  I'll add to the roadmap.  We allow users to rename WS_FTP Pro application name and it makes sense to offer this for web pages as well, especially since you can brand them yourself. 
 
For IMail, this week (tues), we demoed the new feature that allows you to brand/customize the GUI for both domains and vdomains and to have these customizations persist after an upgrade.  Adding a title option would be nice.  http://support.ipswitch.com/kb/IM-20051122-DM01.htm
 
- There is no way for users to see how much of their disk quota they have used. What is the point of setting a quota and not showing users how they are doing?
==KG> This has been completed and was demoed in IMail 2006.05 demo this week (Tues).

- There is no way to show how many unread messages there are from outside the mail program. (Similar to the You've Got Imail addin). I want to have an envelope icon in my portal and have it indicate if there are unread messages in their mailbox. I can do this now in 8.x using something like "You've Got Imail" did. This is not possible in the 2006. I may have to resort to a 3rd party asp based imap component.

- There is a user preference to change the "reply to" address. This actually changes the persons email address in the Imail database. Problem is if you change your reply to address you LOSE all of your contacts. Change it, log out, log in and see for your self.

- Certain features in Web Admin pop an authentication box. Probably for good reason but it seems like it is a broken product when it does that from a clean install.

- Contacts are saved in an Access database. Just seems stupid since my user database is in an SQL Server. One more thing to get corrupt :)

Anyone using this in production for >1000 users and having success?
==KG> Yes, we have customers running with 50k users (edu).  In IMail 2006.04 and .05, we added support for Active Directory and demoed this week (Tues).  We made significant strides in AD support and showed 20,000 users loading in <5 seconds on a 3MHz, 1GB server.  Paging feature is scheduled to better access/manage users.

Glad you like the new web templates and i've added the comments for a thin template for pda/handheld devices.   It's on the roadmap already and we have several requests that have come in.   I particularly like the simple but very informative disk quota indicator and the "you have new/unread mail" indicator (also logged).
 
Nice catch - i just reproduced this as well...we'll log and queue up to fix.

Also, regarding the 1000 users,  try this.
