Upgrade Problems: (thoughts or insights welcome)
We have an NT box which was running IMail 5.0 just
fine. We purchased IMail 6.0 and performed the upgrade as
detailed. However, since the upgrade we have problems being
reported hourly by our 400 + clients.
1. Long login names: Users that login to virtual IMail
services via the web interface cannot use the login name
consisting of user ID and domain, that they could use in the
past ([EMAIL PROTECTED])
2. Login's which may contain " - " no longer work
([EMAIL PROTECTED])
3. Without any apparent cause, the smtp services stop and
can only be restarted if the server is rebooted.
Then bad went to worse!
Looking into support we see there is a patch for
IMail 6.01 to 6.02 . So, we downloaded and applied the
patch. The setup reported a reboot was needed for the patch
to take effect. However, on reboot we have new more serious
problems.
1. Unable to start IMail Administrator program.
We get a dos window flashes that the program is to large to
fit into memory. The box has 512 Meg of RAM and is being
utilized at about 5 -10 %.
2. Under services, all the IMail services are
running but one (IMail POP3) When we try to start the
service it fails to start with a " 0005 Access Denied"
error
Any help would be appreciated :(
