Frank,
As Len said, DNS is important, but it is what I check to see what the REAL
hostname likely should be. Only by checking the TCPIP settings (IP and DNS
tabs) can one be sure of the REAL hostname of the computer. And the HOSTS
file must also be checked to assure that NT has written it correctly and if
you used a different hostname for the above IP in IMail, another entry added
(see last message to Brian).
Having the 'Alias' field in the Host Configuration will allow IMail to
accept messages with different stuff after the @, i.e; if theAlias has
'test.ipswitch.com' and the OHN is imail.ipswitch.com and my DNS is setup
correctly, then IMail will accept messages with those names after the @.
