Hi Everyone,
Just a quick announcement regarding the latest release of our EZSignUp
Utility, v2.0, which lets users get their own e-mail accounts
lickety-split.
NEW FEATURE #1: We've added support for gathering more fields of
information from new users, which is then written to your external
database via ODBC (if your IMail system is so configured), and then
e-mailed to your system admin. Significantly, we've maintained the
utility's reliance on the adduser.exe application for the actual account
creation (instead of just inserting a new database record), because this
is the ONLY WAY to make sure the new user hasn't chosen an existing
alias or list name for the new account. In a nutshell, then, our utility
uses the adduser.exe to create the account, and IF SUCCESSFUL it then
updates the database (if there is one) with the additional fields of
information. NOTE: You can still use EZSignUp WITHOUT using an external
database for users, which is especially handy on lower-volume systems.
NEW FEATURE #2: Due to popular demand, we've added a "Forgotten
Password" feature to the utility. As long as the new user specifies a
"backup" email address at the time of registration, our system will mail
them their password if they enter either their username and domain, or
their backup email address itself. Should cut down on the number of
calls on your support line.
NEW FEATURE #3: We've improved the way you can edit the Welcome Message,
which gets sent to the new user immediately upon registration. You can
now embed fields, making that message more personalized. For example,
the default welcome message starts with "Welcome, Bob, and
congratulations on the registration of [EMAIL PROTECTED]"
